Watch Strap Production Rejected by Other Stores

The original strap has been discontinued. Off-the-shelf products don't fit. Production was rejected by other stores due to a special shape.

At JLC HandMade, we offer custom-made watch strap production tailored to the shape of your watch and the specifications of original parts.

We address requests that are difficult for standard off-the-shelf straps, such as curved ends, convex or concave shapes, compatibility with genuine deployant buckles, and precise length and thickness specifications, by carefully confirming each specification.

While we cannot guarantee production in all cases, we will propose feasibility and suitable specifications based on your photos and dimensions.

Are you experiencing these problems?

If you have any of the following concerns regarding watch strap replacement or custom orders, please consult us once.

  • The genuine strap has been discontinued.
  • The genuine strap is expensive, and you are looking for an alternative.
  • Off-the-shelf products do not have the right length or thickness.
  • The lug shape is special, so commercially available straps cannot be attached.
  • Other stores have told you "production is impossible."
  • You want to continue using your genuine buckle or deployant buckle.
  • You need shapes such as curved ends, convex, or concave.
  • You want to specify the length precisely to fit your wrist.
  • You prioritize a natural fit with the watch body.
  • You want to discuss materials and finishes suitable for luxury or vintage watches.

A watch strap is not simply a matter of the lug width being correct. The appropriate length, thickness, and finish vary depending on the thickness of the watch body, case shape, buckle structure, wrist circumference, and wearing comfort.

At JLC HandMade, we confirm specifications not only for appearance but also considering balance and ease of use when worn.

Special Shapes JLC HandMade Can Handle

At JLC HandMade, we handle not only standard straight shapes but also special shaped strap production tailored to the watch body and genuine parts.

Curved Ends

This specification involves curving the end of the strap to follow the watch case. It is chosen when you want to make the gap between the case and strap appear as natural as possible, or when you desire a look similar to the genuine strap.

Convex Straps

This specification involves processing the end of the strap into a convex shape to accommodate watches with different lug widths and strap body widths. It may be necessary for some brands or watches with special cases.

Concave Straps

This specification involves creating a recess at the end of the strap to match the shape of the case or parts. It may be used for watches where attachment with a standard straight strap is difficult.

Genuine Deployant Buckle Compatibility

You can consult us if you wish to use your existing genuine deployant buckle. We will confirm the buckle width, folding structure, thickness of the tongue side, and hole positions, and propose specifications that fit your genuine buckle.

Part Embedding / Special Part Compatibility

Some watches use dedicated parts or fixing components in their genuine straps. If reusable parts exist, we will examine their structure to determine if they can be attached or embedded into the strap.

Thickness Adjustment

You can adjust the strap thickness to match the watch's volume and buckle specifications. From flat, thin finishes to立体的な仕様 with thickness in the center, you can consult us to match the watch's atmosphere.

Length Specification

You can specify the strap length to match your wrist circumference and buckle position. Length specification is especially recommended for those with thin wrists, those for whom genuine straps are too long, or those whose deployant buckle position is not right.

Hole Position Specification

If the hole positions on a ready-made strap don't fit, you can adjust them to your wearing position. Sharing photos of your wrist circumference or your usual hole position will help us confirm more smoothly.

Quick Release / Screw Bar Compatibility

In addition to standard spring bars, you can also consult us about quick release and screw bar specifications. For watches that use screw bars, such as Panerai, we will confirm the specifications and inform you of the feasibility.

Examples of Watch Brands We Can Handle

JLC HandMade receives consultations for watch strap production for various brands.

For example, for watches with distinctive genuine strap shapes and buckle specifications such as Cartier, Panerai, Grand Seiko, Omega, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, CVSTOS, IWC, Patek Philippe, etc., we will determine production feasibility by checking photos and dimensions.

Rather than judging solely by brand name, we will propose suitable specifications after confirming the actual watch body, lug shape, buckle, and current strap structure.

Photos and Information Required for Consultation

For special shaped watch strap production, pre-confirmation is very important. To ensure a smooth estimate, please prepare the following photos and information as much as possible.

Required Photos

  • Front photo of the watch body
  • Close-up photo of the lug area
  • Photo of the current strap in use
  • Photo of the lug area with the strap removed
  • Photo of the buckle part
  • Photo of the genuine deployant buckle or special parts
  • Photo of the back of the strap or attachment area

Required Information

  • Watch brand and model name
  • Lug width
  • Buckle width
  • Desired material
  • Desired color
  • Stitch color
  • Wrist circumference
  • Desired length
  • Desired thickness
  • Dimensions of the current strap
  • If the dimensions of the genuine strap are known, provide that information.

The more photos and dimensions you provide, the easier it is for us to make an accurate judgment. If judgment is difficult, we may ask for additional photos or measurements.

Cases Where Production May Not Be Possible

At JLC HandMade, we will check as much as possible to meet your wishes, but we cannot produce every watch strap.

In the following cases, we may not be able to accept production or additional confirmation may be required:

  • When structural safety cannot be ensured
  • When there is a risk of damaging the watch body
  • When necessary genuine parts for fixation are missing
  • When it is difficult to reuse special parts
  • When complete reproduction of genuine parts is required
  • When judgment cannot be made solely from photos and dimensions
  • When there is concern about the fixing strength after strap replacement

Since it is a strap for your precious watch, we do not recommend unreasonable production. Even if production is difficult, we will confirm the reason and propose alternative specifications where possible.

Price Guide

The price of a watch strap varies depending on the material, shape, thickness, length, buckle specifications, and whether special processing is involved.

The following specifications will be quoted separately from standard straight straps:

  • Straight shape
  • Curved end
  • Convex/Concave shape
  • Genuine deployant buckle compatibility
  • Part embedding
  • Special part compatibility
  • Thickness specification
  • Length specification
  • Hole position specification
  • Quick release specification
  • Screw bar compatibility

We will provide an estimate based on the specifications, material, and shape. Please send photos of your watch body, current strap, and buckle first.
